Nothing means more to an artist than the knowledge that their efforts are enjoyed and appreciated. I've been creating whimsical and elegant mosaics for over a decade and am delighted to be living in the North Carolina mountains --- one of the most artistically inspiring regions of the country.
ique Assiette (French for "stolen from plate") is a folk art that can be found in many different cultures during many different time periods. It typically involves the recycling of broken crockery, glass, pottery, china, jewelry, gemstones and assorted chotzke into decorative and functional art for the home and garden. PA incorporates an eclectic blending of color, form and texture. The works are as unique and varied as their creator (and their creator's mood and imagination that day). I find the unfolding of each project to be an intriguing and mysterious process. The pieces take on lives of their own and I feel as if I am providing the hands and eyes.
